VoIP which is also known as Voice over Internet Protocol is a combination of hardware and software that enables the delivery of voice and other multimedia over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, instead of the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), which is the conventional analog phone system.  It is also commonly known as Internet Telephony.
